Listen Up Sutton.

From Mike:

This is a message I sent to Betty Sutton on Friday, March 19, 2010, as the country was watching to see what the Dems were going to do next to jam the ObamaCare bill down the throats of Americans. I was still holding out hope that Nancy Pelosi did not have enough votes to pass the bill, and I was actually hoping that our own Betty Sutton would come to her senses.  As we know, she did vote in favor of the bill, and so she should be fired in November 2010:

I understand that you recently announced that you intend to vote “yes” for this health care bill. I believe it is just the first step towards socialized medicine, and many Americans (including me) are totally against it. In case I am not perfectly clear, WE DO NOT WANT SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, many Americans (including me) know that it just does not make sense to damage or destroy what 80-90% or so of the people are satisfied with to cover the roughly 10-20% or so that need coverage (excluding illegal aliens). The President clearly promised on many occasions, “If you like what you have, you can keep it.” We, however, know that this will prove to be untrue, especially given the very discriminatory “Cadillac plan tax”, which will most definitely serve to reduce health benefits for many Americans, especially non-union Americans like me.

Second, many Americans including me are totally appalled at the way the Democrats are trying to get this healthcare bill done. Are you folks kidding? Do you really think the American people will look the other way on this “deemed passed” gimmick? Such a large bill that would dramatically affect the lives of all Americans deserves a straight up or down vote. The Democrats have shown a willingness to do whatever it takes to get this bill passed, and in the process have shown no regard for the will of the people or the Constitution. I love my God, my family, my country, and the Constitution. The Socialist Party (formerly known as the Democrat Party), is treating our Constitution as a doormat. This is despicable to me and any other American that loves this great country and that understands the importance of protecting and abiding by the Constitution.

The President clearly promised on many occasions that he would usher in a “new era of transparency”, and he even promised to televise the debates with special interests on CSPAN. With the many backroom deals cut to buy support and/or votes in this process, including a ride on Air Force one where little boy Dennis Kucinich got to ride on Barack Obama’s lap as they flew over Ohio, this process has been anything but transparent. What an absolute travesty. Our Founding Fathers would turn over in their graves if they knew this type of thing was happening in our great country.

I strongly recommend that you vote “no” to socialized medicine and help to kill the healthcare bill so we can start over with a bipartisan solution in which both parties can provide input and which can actually work to meet the objectives of making quality healthcare available and affordable for all Americans.

If you continue to follow Barack Obama’s left-wing socialist agenda and continue to ignore the will of your constituents and the American people, I will do everything in my power to see that your opponent candidate wins the election this fall in November 2010. I am not sure where your challenger will arise from, whether a true conservative from the Tea Party movement or a Republican, but I do know that the representative from the Socialist Party (I believe that would be you) will not stand a chance. Unless I read over the next few days that you have come to your senses and changed your vote to “no”, I will wish you well in your early retirement.

Personal Protest

March 30th, 2010

betty sutton

Congresswoman Betty Sutton, can you hear us now?

Last week we highlighted a sign campaign led by one man against Betty Sutton.  This week, we are excited to present yet another example of constituent outrage.  VoteNoBettySutton.com, much like our website, was born from the frustration of not being heard by a representative who has forgotten what it means to represent the people.

I didn’t want to create this web site. I voted for Betty Sutton and voiced my support in various ways for her over the years, influencing many of my friends, family and neighbors to support her with their votes. I believed she was the right person to represent the people of Ohio’s 13th Congressional district. She ran for office on a pro-jobs, pro-Ohio, pro-people platform and I put all of my faith in her abilities.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe Betty Sutton has lived up to her promise to represent the working people of the 13th District. By supporting the fiscally unsound, anti-jobs, anti-working American policies of the present House and Senate Democrat leadership and President Obama, she’s shown complete disregard for the welfare of the people who sent her to Washington two years ago. She’s traded the interests of the people for the interests of her party. – http://votenobettysutton.com

Betty Sutton Failure

Betty Sutton Begs for Cash

Thanks to a reader, we received a copy of Sutton’s recent campaign plea for financial help.  You’ve got to love the opening paragraph (more to come).

“The last election was about hope and change. We worked to elect leaders who would help to fix the economic mess, provide health care for everyone and put our country back on the right track. We won in November but we’ve been faced with obstruction by the Republicans at each turn. It’s been hard to deliver on the change we promised”

Well Betty, as long as you brought it up, we did ask for a solution to the economic mess.  I was just wondering when you were actually going to take care of that? And what about your plan to provide health care to everyone?  Correct me if I am wrong, but you didn’t exactly accomplish that either.

The word failure comes to mind, but you probably feel that way too.  That would explain why you’re blaming the republicans for your inadequacies as a legislator.   If only your party had majority control… wait, never mind.

Not For Some

March 24th, 2010

Reform For You, Not For Me.

Reform for you, not for some.

Dear Congresswoman Betty Sutton,

The health care reform bill you helped to move into law requires members of Congress and their office staffs to buy insurance through the state-run exchanges it creates – but we are learning that it may exempt senior staff members in the leadership offices and on congressional committees, essentially exempting those senior Democrat staffers who wrote the bill from being forced to fully participate in the same way as other Americans

How is this possible?

Ms Sutton, why would anyone deeply involved in the process of writing this historic Health Reform bill be motivated to exclude themselves?

During your one and only public forum on Health Reform, the  Tele-Town Hall, you told us that you were a lawyer and that you read and understood the entire bill.  If true, then you must have known about this absurd loophole found on page 158. Why did you allow something so outrageous to go unchallenged before you voted to make it law?

What other loopholes did you miss as you carefully examined the entire bill?

May 4

March 21st, 2010

Final Health Care Bill Vote: 219 YES, 212 NO.  The Health Care Bill Has Passed.  Congresswoman Sutton made her vote, now it’s time to consider ours.  May 4 Primary Election Day is our first chance to end the reign of Sutton.  Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A Summary

March 20th, 2010

“Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its stated intent.” – Quinn’s Laws

We don’t want your plan.

We the people have made our opinions clear and Congresswoman Sutton continues to ignore us.  Not long ago, one of our readers shared a comment made by Nichole Francis Reynolds, Sutton’s Chief Of Staff, during a phone conversation:

We don’t give a sh#t what you think.

That pretty much sums up the career of Betty Sutton as representative of OH-13.

Drunk

March 19th, 2010

“Being a liberal is the art of standing on ones own head and telling the rest of the world that they are upside down.” – Quinn’s Laws

Betty Sutton is so drunken by her lust for power that she blindly follows the Speaker with no regard for the best interest of OH-13.

Unable to pass health reform in the light of day under honorable methods,  Congresswoman Betty Sutton plans to wholeheartedly support the use of a  Constitutionally questionable procedural rule to achieve her power grab.  The  congresswoman and her democrat colleagues are conspiring to vote on a package of amendments to the Senate version of the health care bill which passed that chamber on Christmas Eve.

Under the rule written by Speaker Pelosi and Rules Committee Chair Slaughter, passage of this amendment will “deem” the Senate version of the health care bill to have passed the House – WITHOUT an actual vote on the bill.

Resorting to parliamentary tricks to pass a trillion dollar entitlement program is the perfect example of Sutton’s lack of integrity.  This maneuver has nothing to do with helping the American people.  It has everything to do with grabbing power for government.   If passed, Sutton’s health reform will take the control of one-sixth of our nation’s economy from the people, and hand it to the federal government.  Sadly, Sutton has become so drunken by her lust for power, that she cannot step back to see the damage she’s doing.

We sent Congresswoman Sutton to Washington as a representative of OH-13, but somehow we’ve ended up with a xerox vote for Speaker Pelosi.

Betty,

Be warned, the time for change is near.

No Surprise Here

March 18th, 2010

Bety Sutton Dennis Kucinich

Representatives Betty Sutton and Denny Kucinich Pledge to Vote Against the American People.

Received with far less fanfare than the Kucinich announcement, Representative Sutton (OH-13) has committed to a yes vote on the latest version of health reform.

“Every year more than 40,000 people die because they don’t have health insurance coverage, and in this great nation it should not be that way. The legislation is not perfect and indeed contains provisions that I will continue to strive to improve, but I will vote for the bill. By passing this legislation we will take the long overdue step toward ending the egregious, discriminatory practices of insurance companies that deny care based on pre-existing conditions and impose outrageous premium increases. This legislation will also strengthen the solvency of Medicare, lower drug costs for our seniors, and make health insurance more affordable and accessible for small businesses and individuals.”

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported yesterday that a number of Ohio’s Democrats are actually waiting to read the final bill before making their decisions.  Who has time for that?  There is no reason to actually know what you are voting on.  Words be damned, the President and Speaker said it was a good plan, so it must be a good plan.  Right, Betty?

Well, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, Americans disagree.  In fact, only 43% of Americans actually favor the health care plan Sutton and he cohorts are forcing upon us. 53% oppose it. These findings include just 23% who strongly favor the plan and 46% who Strongly Oppose it.

Betty, you are running on the wrong side of this issue, and using made up facts to support your stance.  And, just like your vote on Cap And Trade, you are pushing forward on a plan that you have openly acknowledge to be flawed.  You were elected to represent the people of OH-13, not to be a lap dog for house leadership.

Health Care Rally

March 11th, 2010

Betty has a plan...

Is your healthcare freedom worth a few hours of your time?  We are all tired.  We are all frustrated.  This is our hour and it is critical that we turn up the heat.  Take control,  join your fellow patriots for the “Save our Healthcare” rally at Betty Sutton’s Akron office.

The event, which is running in conjunction with other Patriots’ events nationwide, is your chance to let Sutton and her staff know that “We the People” do not want government-run healthcare.

Michele Bachmann said it best, “…this is asking a lot in the next two weeks to go and visit these congressional offices, it is actually a very small price to pay, when you consider that we’re on the precipice of losing the finest healthcare system that has been created…”
